Leaders in Lowell was joined on April 7, 2020 by LaTosha Brown, the co-founder of the Black Voters Matter Fund and a 2019 Harvard IOP Resident Fellow. During our conversation with LaTosha, we learned about her organization, the Black Voters Matter Fund, and we discussed how everyone, including young people, can get engaged as we get closer to the 2020 Presidential election.

This event was held as part of our new "Virtual Discussion Series". Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, we cannot hold in-person events for the foreseeable future. In the meantime, we will be conducing a series of video interviews and discussions with prominent speakers and leaders. These discussion will be like "mini events" and will range in length from 20 to 40 minuets.

Co-Founder, Black Voters Matter Harvard IOP Fellow, Fall 2019  From LaTosha's Harvard IOP Bio: "LaTosha Brown is an award-winning organizer, philanthropic consultant, political strategist and jazz singer with over twenty years of experience working in the non-profit and philanthropy sectors on a wide variety of issues related to political empowerment, social justice, economic development, leadership development, wealth creation and civil rights.

"She is the co-founder of Black Voters Matter Fund, a power building southern based civic engagement organization that played an instrumental role in the 2017 Alabama U.S. Senate race. Ms. Brown is principal owner of TruthSpeaks Consulting, Inc., a philanthropy advisory consulting firm in Atlanta, GA. For more than 25 years, she has served as a consultant and advisor for individual donors, government, public foundations and private donors.
